Welcome to the club, thats the same reason why I changed my driveshaft and everything went to shit.

Before I noticed your name, I said to myself “Looks a lot like a Mk2 or 3 VW 4 lug suspension.”

It’s not really clicking yet. I’m probably gonna grease gun it and throw a new boot on and h ope for the best. Will order a new joint or just a full axle as well, dunno how many nice days are left this year. 70 and sunny today.

Don’t worry, that’s not a very expensive repair.

A new outer joint is $17 at Advanced, so yeah, not too bad

It helps when you can do the work yourself.

They work even at stock height.
If you can still get all-new OEM axles, that is the best choice. But they’re not available for every car. I know Ford, GM, and some of the Euros are good about supplyi ng all-new OEM axles, but most don’t sell new axles, only reman.
Raxles is the only good reman I know of because they actually rebuild them
properly. They are also not available for all cars, but they are available for all VW’s

Raxles is a good choice. Their warranty is the best. I went through 3 sets on my previous Sentra.

If I can’t repack the cv on there and just put a boot on, I’ll buy a Raxle. No more chines ium.

As long as it doesn't get cold...

If you try to just repakc and reboot, make sure you get an OEM boot that is thermoplastic.
Most aftermarket boots are neoprene, which is inferior. Cardone, like most half-ass rebuilds, and the Chinese, use the shitty neoprene.
Remember that torn boots are practically the only cause of CV failure.

I agree with the grease and new boot proposition. Get yourself a quality circlip pliers though......

I greased and rebooted it but then it started clicking at full lock, so I ordered another axle so it doesn't break over the winter. Oh well.
